Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Stayly browser extension and the Stayly API process data to provide hotel price comparison features on supported travel and booking websites.
Stayly is designed to help you compare hotel offers and surface better-value or direct booking options while you browse. To do that, the extension needs to process limited hotel and trip-related information from supported pages and send relevant request data to the Stayly API.
What Stayly processes
When you use the Stayly extension on supported hotel search or hotel detail pages, Stayly may process:
- Hotel name
- Travel dates
- Number of adults
- Currency
- Destination or city
- Hotel address, where available
- Current page context needed to determine whether the page is supported and how to show comparisons
The extension may automatically send this information to the Stayly API so that Stayly can return relevant hotel price comparison results.
Technical data and local storage
To operate the service, Stayly may also process limited technical metadata, including a pseudonymous installation identifier and basic extension technical information, for security, reliability, debugging, and abuse prevention.
Our servers and infrastructure providers may also automatically receive technical request metadata, such as IP address, timestamps, and basic server logs, when the extension contacts the Stayly API.
The extension stores a pseudonymous installation identifier in browser extension storage so it can function consistently across sessions. The extension may also keep short-lived comparison data in memory while it is running to improve responsiveness.
How we use data
Stayly uses the data it processes to retrieve hotel price comparison results, show direct booking offers and alternative provider offers, rank and display relevant deals, maintain service security and reliability, diagnose bugs, and prevent abuse.
Stayly does not use extension data for advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated profiling.
What Stayly does not ask you for
The extension does not ask you to create an account or directly provide:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Payment card or billing details
- Passwords or login credentials
- Health information
- Personal messages or communications
Sharing and third-party services
Stayly does not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising services inside the extension.
We may use hosting, infrastructure, and security service providers that process data on our behalf in order to operate the Stayly API and deliver the service securely.
The Stayly website may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate site usage and improve the product. This is separate from the extension experience described above.
When you click through to a third-party booking provider or hotel website, your interaction with that website is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
Retention
The pseudonymous installation identifier remains in local extension storage until the extension is removed or extension data is cleared.
Price comparison responses may be cached temporarily to improve performance and reliability. Technical logs and operational records may be retained for a limited period as reasonably necessary for security, debugging, and service operations.
Your choices
You can stop all extension-related data processing by disabling or uninstalling the Stayly extension.
